Facebook Video Calling-How to Install and Start Video Call
Since Google has launched the latest social networking project Google+, Facebook has been hot on it since then. Google+; Introduced a video calling feature called ‘Hangout’; And the following was Facebook on the footsteps, which started its own video calling facility, operated by Skype for 800 million + members in their network.
Facebook is free to use video calling, and with it, you can not only chat with your friends and loved ones, but also to face them with a smile 🙂 So let’s start and explore this exciting new feature.
What do I need for video calling?
All you need is working webcam, and a microphone :). However, unlike Google+, these video calls are not required to start. If you do not have a webcam, you can still see and hear your friend (provided that he has a webcam and a microphone). But your friend will only be able to hear you and you will not be able to see (Of course: P).
You will also need to update your browser. Facebook video calling is supported by the latest versions of Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Internet Explorer web browser. So please make sure your browser is outdated. Windows users will also need to ensure that they have the latest version of DirectX installed.
Let’s get started!
So now you have the necessary requirements (hopefully), you are ready to go. To set up video calling, all you have to do is open your chat box and click on the video call button at the top.
Alternatively, you can go to a friend’s profile (if he has an old design) and click on the call button.
If you have not already set up video calling, you will get a prompt window. Clicking on the “set up” button will get you the start.
Follow simple instructions for setting up video calling. Once installed, you will be able to call your friends by clicking on the video call button.
Unfortunately, at this level, Facebook does not support calling video call conference conferences. But they are working on this and it will be out in a while 🙂
Facebook video calling is in its initial stage. Many people are facing problems at this level. Looking at the age of this project and the huge number of users trying to take advantage of this service, it should be expected. Facebook is constantly trying to improve the service, so the problems will soon be resolved (hopefully).
In addition, according to Facebook, some users may experience problems due to software / hardware incompatibility. Please make sure you are using the latest version of your browser, and that your webcam and microphone are set correctly (if you have left it, then again what I want … ‘read the section again).
